Better Moodle — Privacy Policy

Better Moodle is a browser extension that shows your Waseda Moodle deadlines in one list. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Waseda University, Moodle Pty Ltd, or Instructure (Canvas).

The short version

• Everything Better Moodle reads stays in your browser on your own device.
• Better Moodle has no server. Nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
• No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no selling or sharing of data.

What Better Moodle reads

While you are logged in to Waseda Moodle, Better Moodle uses your existing Moodle session to read pages you could open yourself, in order to find dates and deadlines:

• Your Moodle timeline, calendar and notifications
• Your courses' pages, assignment and quiz lists (including your submission status), forum and announcement posts, Moodle pages, and PDF files that look like syllabi or schedules
• Syllabus pages your instructors link from Moodle, when they are public: Notion pages, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, and Waseda syllabus pages

Better Moodle never reads or stores your Moodle password. It does not read pages on any other website.

What Better Moodle stores, and where

• On your device (browser extension storage): the list of deadlines it found, your course list, which items you marked done, and scan history.
• In your browser's sync storage, if you have browser sync turned on: your Better Moodle settings, course colors, course nicknames and card order. This is synced by your browser provider (e.g. Google Chrome Sync) under your own account, not by Better Moodle.

Uninstalling Better Moodle deletes all of this data.

Network requests

Better Moodle only connects to:

• wsdmoodle.waseda.jp — to read your Moodle pages
• www.notion.so / *.notion.site, docs.google.com, syllabus.waseda.jp, www.wsl.waseda.jp — only to read public syllabus pages linked from your Moodle courses

These requests go directly from your browser to those sites. All of Better Moodle's code is included in the extension; it does not download or run remote code.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Better Moodle は、Waseda Moodle の締切をひとつのリストにまとめるブラウザ拡張機能です。早稲田大学、Moodle、Instructure（Canvas）とは関係のない個人のプロジェクトです。

• Better Moodle は、ログイン中の Moodle セッションを使って、あなた自身が開けるページ（タイムライン、カレンダー、通知、コースページ、課題・小テスト一覧、フォーラム、PDF、Moodle からリンクされた公開シラバス）を読み、日付と締切を探します。
• 読み取った内容はすべてあなたの端末のブラウザ内にのみ保存されます。開発者や第三者に送信されることはありません。サーバーはありません。
• パスワードを読み取ったり保存したりすることはありません。分析・トラッキング・広告もありません。
• 設定・コースの色・ニックネームは、ブラウザの同期がオンの場合、ブラウザ提供元（Google Chrome 同期など）によりあなたのアカウントで同期されます。
• 通信先は wsdmoodle.waseda.jp と、コースからリンクされた公開シラバス（Notion、Google ドキュメント、早稲田シラバス）のみです。
• 拡張機能を削除すると、すべてのデータが削除されます。
